Atupa Orchid Units are an affordable self-catering accommodation option privately located in a quiet tropical garden setting, close to Rarotonga's main town of Avarua.

The Atupa Orchid Units offer spacious self-catering accommodation at an affordable price. Perfect for the budget conscious, these self-contained bungalows are in a beautiful garden setting surrounded by trees, orchids and tropical plants. The property has one bedroom and studio apartment accommodation options.

Set away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets, this private and secluded property lies just one kilometre west of Avarua, Rarotonga's main town. This quiet retreat is just a short walk from the local market place, supermarkets, takeaways, cafes, good coffee, food outlets and a variety of stores.

The owner, Ingrid Caffery and her son Mario, speak and write English, German and Dutch, as well as some French. Both are experienced guides and conduct tours of Rarotonga by car and bus.

On these informative tours you travel the ancient Rarotongan back road - the Ara Metua - being introduced to the fauna and flora of the island. Tours stop at the Sailing Club, Muri Beach and at Ngatangiia harbour, the historical starting point for the Polynesian migrations to New Zealand. The tours carry on to Avarua, stopping at the Arai-Te-Tonga, the court and meeting place of ancient peoples. Tour Option 1 lasts 3.5 hrs and Tour Option 4 is 4 hours. A fascinating day out and about.
